Polygon zkEVM

Polygon zkEVM is a Layer 2 scaling solution that uses ZK-rollup technology to improve Ethereum’s throughput. As its name suggests, Polygon zkEVM is designed to perfectly mimic the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) environment within a zero-knowledge proof system. This allows developers to write code as if they were working directly on Layer 1 Ethereum, with ZK-powered validity proofs ensuring the correctness of smart contract execution results. At the heart of this zkEVM solution is the PLONK-based ZK-SNARK protocol, which supports high performance and security.

Additionally, the Polygon zkEVM team offers Polygon Chain Development Kit (CDK), a network-building framework and Rollup-as-a-Service (RaaS) solution. This toolkit provides developers with the tools and resources needed to create custom ZK-rollups similar to Polygon zkEVM.
